# Team and roles

> Invite your team to Message24, choose between the Admin and Member roles, and control which channels each person has access to.

Source: https://docs.message24.net/owners/account/team-and-roles/

Invite the people who answer your customers so they can work from the same Inbox. Each person has a role, Admin or Member, and access to a set of channels.

Manage your team in **Settings > Team**. Only admins can see this page.

## Roles

There are two roles:

| What they can do | Admin | Member |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Use the Inbox and reply to customers | Yes | Yes |
| Manage orders | Yes | Yes |
| Use shortcuts | Yes | Yes |
| See the Dashboard | Yes | No |
| Create, edit and delete shortcuts | Yes | No |
| View and change AI settings and the knowledge base | Yes | No |
| Manage schedules | Yes | No |
| Change business settings, channels, integrations and billing | Yes | No |
| Invite and remove team members, and change roles | Yes | No |
| View the call center reports and manage call center sources | Yes | No |

Settings pages a member can't use don't appear in their **Settings** list.

## Invite a team member

1. Go to **Settings > Team**.
2. Under **Invite Team Member**, enter their email address.
3. Choose a role: **Member** or **Admin**.
4. Under **Channel access (optional)**, choose which channels they can manage. All channels are selected to start with; use **Clear** or **Select all** to change that quickly.
5. Select **Invite**.

The person is added to your team straight away. They get access by signing in to Message24 with that email address, so use the address of the Google account they sign in with.

:::note
If you clear every channel, the member joins without channel access until you grant it.

## Channel access

Channel access decides which channels a team member is linked to. It also decides which notifications they get: team members only receive notifications for channels they have access to. See [Notifications](/owners/daily/notifications/).

When you connect a new channel, every admin gets access to it automatically. Members need to be added.

To change who has access to a channel after inviting someone:

1. Go to **Settings > Channels**.
2. On the channel, select **Manage Access**.
3. Tick the team members who should have access, then select **Save Access**.

The **Team Members** list shows how many channels each person has access to, and the names of the first few.

## Change a role or remove someone

In the **Team Members** list:

- To change someone's role, choose **Member** or **Admin** from the dropdown next to their name.
- To remove someone, select the bin icon (**Remove member**) and confirm.

A business always needs at least one admin, so you can't remove the last admin or change their role to Member. You also can't remove yourself.
